Right-hander Chance Adams was optioned back to Triple-A following the team's second game in London on Sunday, and both LHP Nestor Cortes Jr. and 1B Mike Ford were recalled from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Voit's IL placement.
Voit went 4-for-4 with three doubles in the first half of the Yankees' two-game sweep vs. Boston over the weekend, but exited the game after experiencing abdominal discomfort.
The 28-year-old will benefit from the proximity of the approaching All-Star break, and could potentially miss just six games over the next two weeks while he recovers from his abdominal issue.
In 78 games for the Yankees this season, Voit has slashed .280/.393/.509 with 17 home runs and 50 RBI, following up his impressive late-season stint with the Bombers at the tail end of the 2018 season.
Stay tuned for the latest on Voit and the other members of the Yankees injured list, as the Bombers return to New York to battle the Mets over a two-game set at Citi Field.
