The Yankees will officially have a new pitching coach and bench coach in the dugout next season.

General manager Brian Cashman confirmed Monday at the GM Meetings that Matt Blake will be the team's new pitching coach.

The team has also granted former bench coach Josh Bard's request to seek opportunities closer to his home in Colorado. In Bard's place, the Yankees have promoted Carlos Mendoza to be manager Aaron Boone's new bench coach.

Mendoza has been a coach with the Yankees for 11 years and most recently served as the club's Major League quality control and infield coach since the start of 2018.

Each of the Yankees' four other Major League coaches -- first-base coach Reggie Willits, third-base coach Phil Nevin, hitting coach Marcus Thames and bullpen coach Mike Harkey -- are all expected to return next season.
