Donaldson's walk-off hit clinches playoff berth for Yankees

NEW YORK -- They packed the grandstands 43,123 strong once more on Thursday evening at Yankee Stadium, standing each time Aaron Judge dug his spikes into the batter’s box. And even though their favorite superstar was kept in the park, those fans did not leave empty-handed, witnessing the Yankees secure a place in the 2022 postseason.

Judge walked three times and his home run total remained at a Major League-leading 60 with 13 games remaining, as Giancarlo Stanton launched a two-run homer and Josh Donaldson delivered a walk-off RBI single to power the Yankees past the Red Sox, 5-4, in 10 innings.
