The first-year Yankee torched opposing pitching to the tune of a .395 average, leading the AL with 45 hits, 26 runs and 29 RBI.
His 45 hits were the most in a calendar month since Derek Jeter had 46 in August of 2009. LeMahieu also matched Jeter in becoming the fastest Yankee to 100 hits since The Captain in 2012, both doing so in the 80th game of the season.
LeMahieu went hitless just three times in 25 games in June, and had multi-hit games in 15 of them. During his 14-game hit streak from June 14 to June 30, LeMahieu slashed .484/.529/.871 with five homers and 20 RBI in that span alone.
DJ earned Player of the Week honors for June 24-30, when he hit an absurd .625 with six extra-base hits and 10 RBI. The versatile veteran also spent time all over the diamond providing elite defense in every role he's filled.
LeMahieu has been the leading consistent presence in the Yankees lineup decimated by injuries over the course of the first half, and there's no telling how the AL East standings might have shaped up without his arrival in the Bronx. He's even earned early consideration as an MVP contender.
The Yankees will be looking to bounce back Wednesday after a 4-2 loss against the Mets in Queens Tuesday night.
