The New York Yankees announced details regarding a free skin cancer screening, which will be open to guests attending the team’s Thursday, June 19, 1:05 p.m. game vs. Los Angeles-AL.
Beginning when Stadium gates open at 11:30 a.m. and lasting until 1:30 p.m., these quick and painless examinations will take place on the 200 Level Concourse in between the New Era Team Store and Section 223.
All screenings are free and “walk-up” — reservations are not required. However, fans should note that they will need a valid ticket for Thursday’s Yankees-Angels game to enter Yankee Stadium.
The screening is led by Yankees Team Dermatologist Dr. Darrell Rigel, who will be joined by colleagues from the dermatology departments of New York University, Mount Sinai, and SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. The annual event is offered to guests prior to one home game each season and is also open to all New York Yankees employees, Yankee Stadium Legends Hospitality staff members and Yankee Stadium Securitas officers before gates open to guests.
“Early detection of skin cancer through regular screening is crucial, significantly increasing the chances of successful treatment,” said Rigel. “I am thrilled that my fellow dermatology professionals and I can provide these screenings each year. They are quick and non-intrusive, and they can end up being a lifesaver.”
