Brooklyn Nets waive Edmond Sumner

BROOKLYN – The Brooklyn Nets have requested waivers on guard Edmond Sumner.

Sumner originally signed with Brooklyn on July 8, 2022. He appeared in 53 games (12 starts) in his lone season with the Nets, recording averages of 7.1 points on 46.1 percent shooting from the field, 35.6 percent shooting from 3-point range and a career-high 91.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.9 minutes per game. In five seasons with Brooklyn and Indiana (2017-21), Sumner has posted averages of 6.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 14.0 minutes per contest while shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from distance and 81.1 percent from the free-throw line across 161 games (41 starts).
