The New York Yankees have reportedly acquired Tyler Wade in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Thursday.

Wade, 27, was drafted by the Yankees in the fourth round of the 2013 MLB Draft, and played parts of five seasons with the Bombers from 2017-2021 before being traded to the Angels last offseason.

Wade was designated for assignment by the Angels back on July 3 after appearing in 67 games with the Halos this season. The versatile utility man slashed .218/.272/.272 with six extra-base hits, eight RBI and eight steals during his time with the Angels, appearing at every defensive position multiple times except for first base and catcher.

As the Yankees close out the first half of their sensational 2022 season, Wade could help provide valuable speed and defense all over the diamond going forward as a depth piece for the first-place Bombers.

Stay tuned to YES for more information on Wade's return to the Bronx and any other ensuing roster moves on the horizon.
