New York Yankees slugger and reigning MLB home run king Luke Voit took to social media this week to announce that he and his wife, Tori, were expecting a new baby on the way.
"Baby V is coming!" read Voit's social media post, complete with an ultrasound of the couple's first child.
Voit has become a Yankees fan-favorite and one of the toughest hitters in baseball after a sensational 2020 season, which saw him lead the Majors with 22 homers in 56 games played.
The 6-foot-3 slugger did all this while battling through plantar fasciitis throughout the season, but he's said since that he's "feeling great" and on the road to full health for the upcoming season.
Originally acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals back in 2018 in a trade for relievers Chasen Shreve and Giovanny Gallegos, Voit has blossomed into a vocal team leader and one of the most dependable bats in the heart of the Yankees lineup.
With a new baby on the way and another promising season ahead in the Bronx, the Voit family has plenty to be excited about heading into the new year.
