
The New York Yankees announced Thursday that they have acquired Minor League outfielder Wilberson De Peña and international bonus pool money from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for INF Oswald Peraza.
De Peña, 18, has batted .227 (17-for-75) with 22R, six doubles, one triple, four HR, 20RBI, seven BB and five SB in 32 games with the DSL Angels. Over parts of two Minor League seasons in the Angels organization (2024-25), the outfielder has hit .226 (31-for-137) with 33R, seven doubles, two triples, four HR, 29RBI, 17BB and nine SB in 58 games. He has appeared defensively at all three outfield positions (LF – 30G/24GS; RF – 15G/7GS; CF – 5G/4GS). The Santo Domingo, D.R., native was signed by the Angels as a non-drafted free agent on Jan. 15, 2024.
Peraza, 25, has hit .152 (24-for-158) with 18R, five doubles, three HR, 13RBI, 11BB and three SB in 71 games with the Yankees in 2025. Over parts of four Major League seasons with the Yankees (2022-25), the infielder has batted .190 (74-for-390) with 43R, 16 doubles, seven HR, 30RBI, 31BB and nine SB in 145 career games. The Barquisimeto, Venezuela, native was originally signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2016.
