NEW YORK – JUNE 2, 2023 – The WNBA announced that New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart has been named the KIA WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for May. The Player of the Month honor is the fourth of Stewart’s career.

In May, Stewart helped New York open the season with a 3-1 start and posted averages of 25.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, three assists and 2.8 steals while converting on 54.1% (33-61) from the field and 43.5% (10-23) from three.

Now, for the second time in her career, Breanna remains the only player in WNBA history to average 25 points and 10 boards through four games (previously, 2021). Additionally, her 103 combined points are the second-most by a player in their first four games with a team.

On May 21, Stewart’s career-high 45-point performance in her Barclays Center home debut set the WNBA record for most points in under 31 minutes, Liberty franchise records for single-game scoring and made field goals (15), as well as career-best marks in first-half scoring (29) and three-point field goals made (6).

Stewart’s monthly honor is the 14th all-time in New York Liberty franchise history and her first as a member of the Eastern Conference.
