Adidas added one of the biggest names in baseball to its roster, agreeing with New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge on an endorsement deal announced Tuesday.
Judge joins Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant and Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa among the young stars affiliated with the athletic company. He will sport the Adidas logo on his batting gloves and wristbands.
Judge had previously been affiliated with Under Armour, which tried to sign him to a long-term endorsement deal last summer. The reigning American League Rookie of the Year told Sports Illustrated that Adidas' off-the-field focuses are what drew him to the company.
"The coolest part is that they're not all about sports, and that was so clear in one of my first meetings with them," Judge said. "They're about lifestyle and showing who I was and who I am as a person. It's what made the choice easy."
Judge has become one of the sport's most marketable stars since breaking out with 52 home runs in 2017, the most ever for a rookie in MLB. He agreed to a multi-year deal with Pepsi in November and is on the cover of the video game "MLB The Show 18."
