New York Yankees add Jimmy Cordero to Major League roster

The Yankees have added RHP Jimmy Cordero to the Major League roster. 

Cordero,31, did not pitch in the Majors in 2022 and went 1-1 with six saves and a 2.09 ERA (38.2IP, 25H, 12R/9ER, 13BB, 50K, 2HR) over 32 relief appearances with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In three Major League seasons (2018-20), he has gone 3-5 with a 4.55 ERA (83.0IP, 82H, 46R/42ER, 32BB, 65K, 8HR) in 83 relief appearances with the Washington Nationals (2018), Toronto Blue Jays (2019) and Chicago White Sox (2019-20). The San Cristóbal, D.R., native was originally signed by the Toronto Blue Jays as a non-drafted free agent on Jan. 6, 2012. He was signed by the Yankees to a minor league contract on Dec. 15, 2021 and attended 2022 spring training as a non-roster invitee.
