The New York Yankees reinstated slugger Edwin Encarnacion from the injured list before Tuesday's game against the visiting Texas Rangers.
Encarnacion suffered a fractured right wrist on Aug. 3 when he was struck by a slider by Boston Red Sox reliever Josh A. Smith.
Encarnacion, 36, appeared in two rehab games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and was 1-for-8 with one RBI and two runs scored.
The first baseman/designated hitter has batted .238 with nine homers in 36 games since the Yankees acquired him from the Seattle Mariners on June 15.
In 101 games combined with Seattle and New York this year, the three-time All-Star is hitting .240 with 30 homers and 76 RBIs.
