Down by one run in the bottom of the ninth, Alex Rodriguez popped up a ball off Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez into shallow right field for what appeared to be the final out of the game.
However, Mets second baseman Luis Castillo allowed the ball to bounce in and out of his glove, opening the door for Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira to score for the win. It was the Yankees' seventh walk-off victory of the season.
