Stanton had been initially placed on the injured list with a bicep strain, which was followed by a shoulder strain, and now after being hit by a pitch during live BP he'll remain on the IL with calf tightness.

Stanton will be shut down for seven to 10 days, Aaron Boone told the media, at which point his rehab assignment duration can be reset to 20 days when he is ready to test the calf.

To clarify, Stanton was never removed from the IL, but due to the 20-day clock associated with a player's rehab assignment beginning after a designated point, it has now been pushed back following the calf injury.

Despite the absence of Stanton, along with several other key players, the Yankees have clawed their way to the top of the AL East and sit 13 games over .500 entering Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Stay tuned for the latest news on Stanton and the injured Yankees as the 2019 season continues on.
