Draw date set for NYCFC's first CONCACAF Champions League

New York City FC's record breaking season continues with the first-ever qualification for the 2020 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League. 
The tournament consists of 16 teams and NYCFC is one of the first 15 to qualify, while the final spot is reserved for the MLS Cup Champions. 
Thus far the competition includes: Montreal Impact (CAN), AD San Carlos (CRC), Deportivo Saprissa (CRC), Alianza FC (SLV), Comunicaciones FC (GUA), CD Olimpia (HON), FC Motagua (HON), Portmore United FC (JAM), Club America (MEX), Club Leon (MEX), Cruz Azul FC (MEX), Tigres UANL (MEX), Atlanta United FC (USA), and Los Angeles FC (USA). 
If the team that wins the MLS Cup has already qualified, the final spot goes to Seattle Sounders FC.
The SCCL will kick off Feb 18-20 and 25-27, with the round of 16 matches. The quarterfinals, between the round of 16 winners, will take place mid-March, followed by the semifinals the first two weeks of April. The finals, where a new champion will be crowned, will be disputed April 28-30 and May 5-7.
In order to determine matchups for the First Round, Concacaf will be hosting the draw on Monday, December 9, at the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana in Mexico City. 
City fans will be able to watch the draw live on ESPN to see who the club will be competing against and where the first match will be played. The tournament includes home-and-away in each round, in a direct-elimination format.
