NEW YORK – OCTOBER 15, 2023 – Ahead of Game 3 of the 2023 WNBA Finals, the league announced that New York Liberty forward, Breanna Stewart, has been named to the 2023 All-WNBA First Team, and guard, Sabrina Ionescu, was selected to the All-WNBA Second Team.

Stewart, the 2023 Kia WNBA MVP, recorded career-bests of 23.0 points per game and 3.8 assists per game, along with 9.3 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.5 steals per game on 46.5% from the field, 35.5% from three and 85.1% from the line. Breanna’s four 40-point games in 2023 set the WNBA single-season record, while also tying the all-time WNBA record for career 40-point games.

Ionescu averaged 17.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game in 2023––the only player leaguewide to average at least 16 points, five rebounds and five assists per game this season. Rewriting the WNBA’s three-point record books in both volume and efficiency, Sabrina’s 128 three-pointers and 44.8% three-point field goal percentage (min. 200 3PA) set all-time single-season records.

Stewart has now earned five All-WNBA First Team honors, while Ionescu garnered All-WNBA Second Team honors for the second consecutive season. The awards are the sixth and 12th in New York Liberty franchise history, respectively, while marking the third-ever All-WNBA Liberty teammate duo (1997, 2015).
