The Yankees have repeatedly said that re-signing DJ LeMahieu is their top winter priority. The months-long stalemate between the club and their top position player appears to be nearing a conclusion.

LeMahieu and the Yankees are finalizing terms on an agreement that will keep the sweet-swinging infielder in pinstripes, sources told MLB.com’s Jon Paul Morosi and Mark Feinsand. Feisnsand reports that the deal is expected to be for $90 million over six years, per a source. The team has not commented.

The Yankees’ standing offer to LeMahieu was believed to have been in the range of four years and $84 million, while LeMahieu and his agent, Joel Wolfe, had requested a five-year deal worth about $110 million.

LeMahieu has said that his preference would be to continue playing in New York.
