BROOKLYN (Sept. 8, 2025) – The Brooklyn Nets have re-signed forward Ziaire Williams to a multi-year contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Williams (6’9”, 205) appeared in a career-high 63 games (career-high 45 starts) in his first season with Brooklyn in 2024-25, averaging a career-best 10 points on 41.2 percent shooting from the field, a career-high 34.1 percent shooting from 3-point range and 82.1 percent shooting from the free-throw line, a career-best 4.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals in a career-high 24.5 minutes per game. Williams knocked down a career-high 103 3-pointers last season, 27 more than his previous single-season career high (76 in 2021-22), improving on both his volume and efficiency from distance. On the defensive end, the 23-year-old registered a career-best 2.7 deflections per game, and his 167 deflections nearly matched his total from his first three seasons combined (170). Since hustle stats were first tracked in the 2016-17 campaign, the 2.7 deflections were the second-most for any Net in a season.
Williams was originally acquired by Brooklyn via trade with the Memphis Grizzlies on July 19, 2024. He spent the first three seasons (2021-24) of his NBA career with Memphis after being drafted with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft. In 213 career games (95 starts) split between Brooklyn and Memphis, Williams has recorded averages of 8.3 points on 42.1 percent shooting from the field, 31.6 percent shooting from distance and 81.1 percent shooting from the free-throw line, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 21.1 minutes per contest. The Lancaster, Calif., native spent one collegiate season (2020-21) at Stanford University.
