Brooklyn Nets acquire Terance Mann and draft rights to Drake Powell in three-team trade

BROOKLYN (July 7, 2025) – The Brooklyn Nets acquired guard Terance Mann and the draft rights to guard/forward Drake Powell, the 22nd overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, from the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team trade with the Boston Celtics. To complete the deal, Brooklyn also sent cash considerations to Boston.

Mann (6’5”, 215) appeared in 67 games (13 starts) for Atlanta and the Los Angeles Clippers last season, recording averages of 7.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 21.1 minutes per contest while shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from 3-point range. In six NBA seasons (2019-25) with the Hawks and Clippers, Mann holds career averages of 8.1 points on 50.2 percent shooting from the field and 37.2 percent shooting from long range, 3.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 22.1 minutes per contest.

The 28-year-old, who was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Lowell, Mass., has also appeared in 43 career playoff games (12 starts) over four postseason appearances for the Clippers (2020-21, 2023-24), averaging 6.0 points and 2.4 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from 3-point range. Mann was selected by the Clippers with the 48th overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft after a four-year collegiate career (2015-19) at Florida State. He helped lead the Seminoles to three NCAA Tournament appearances (2017-19) and earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors twice (2018 and 2019).

Powell (6’5”, 200) spent one season (2024-25) at the University of North Carolina, appearing in 40 total games (27 starts) and registering averages of 7.4 points on 47.2 percent shooting from the field and 36.4 percent shooting from 3-point range, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 26.3 minutes per contest. The 19-year-old earned Carolina's Defensive Player of the Year award and helped lead the Tar Heels to an NCAA Tournament berth.
