BROOKLYN (July 8, 2025) – The Brooklyn Nets have acquired forward Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first round draft pick from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for forward Cam Johnson.

“We’re excited to welcome Michael and his family to Brooklyn,” said Nets General Manager Sean Marks. “Michael is a dynamic offensive talent, who will add shooting and floor spacing to our team while also providing a strong presence on the boards. He’s been an integral part of a team that reached the pinnacle of success, and sharing his knowledge of what it takes to achieve at the highest level will be invaluable to our young roster.

“We also want to sincerely thank Cam for everything he brought to our team these past few seasons. He embraced Brooklyn as his home from the moment he arrived, and the impact he’s made both within the borough and our organization will be felt for years to come. We wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future.”

Porter Jr. (6’10”, 218) appeared in and started 77 games for Denver last season, recording averages of 18.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists in a career-high 33.7 minutes per game while shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from beyond the arc. The 27-year-old has also appeared in 75 career playoff games (59 starts) over five postseason appearances, recording averages of 13.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 30.9 minutes per game, and became an NBA Champion with the Nuggets in 2023. Since his first playoff appearance in 2019-20, Porter Jr. ranks seventh in the league in playoff 3-pointers made (166) and is one of just four players in that time with 150 3-pointers made and 500 rebounds in the postseason, joining Jaylen Brown, Luka Dončić and Jayson Tatum.
