Marketing Manager

The YES Network, the #1 Regional Sports Network in the country and home of the NY Yankees, Brooklyn Nets and NY Liberty seeks a strategic, creative, industrious, and results-oriented marketing all-star to join its internal YES Creative Agency in NYC.

Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing and Creative, this critically important position helps to strategically plan, organize and execute all marketing for the linear and digital businesses, including brand development, customer acquisition, fan engagement and advertising/affiliate sales support. It is responsible for executing all consumer-facing marketing initiatives while serving as a liaison with key internal and external stakeholders including ad sales, production, digital, PR, professional sports team partners, corporate marketing and third-party vendors.

This position will be an instrumental force in driving the following:


  • Develop and refine core brand positioning and architecture that uniquely reflects our unique value proposition
  • Ensure all consumer and trade marketing messaging and materials are on brand, premium and consistent
  • Consumer Engagement/Strategic Planning:

  • Conceptualize and implement both linear YES Network and YES App annual marketing plan to drive viewership, digital acquisition and consumption
  • Plan, execute and optimize all on and off-channel media plans to attract new customers and increased consumption across all platforms that are relentlessly optimized in real-time
  • Ideate big season launch campaigns with players and network talent. Scout shoot locations, aid in script writing and set design, act as producer on-site and oversee final delivery of the promo
  • Deepen fan engagement through developing arresting campaigns and content for social media, email, mobile, influencer and other digital marketing initiatives
  • Plan and manage strategic placement of on-air promotion and drop-ins
  • Conduct audience and popular culture trend research and competitive monitoring
  • Recommend and deliver against measurable growth and engagement KPIs
  • Partnership Marketing/Experiential:

  • Grow and service cross promotional relationship with teams, leagues and other partners
  • Develop, produce and fulfill all consumer and client promotions and events
  • Manage and audit promotional merchandise inventory
  • Client Solutions (B2B):

  • Partner with ad sales to develop added-value consumer-facing promotions for our clients
  • Develop corporate and sales presentations, recaps, team presentations. Including decks, one-sheets, infographics, sizzle reels and digital media kits, etc.
  • Work closely with Distribution Team to prepare and manage marketing/digital efforts for all distribution campaigns

  • 3-5 years previous television marketing or professional sports team experience is necessary
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills are required
  • Superb oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. The candidate must be able to lead conversations and provide excellent, professional email communication with local team partners and business/community organizations
  • Must be creative and have ability to communicate creative ideas to others. The ability to multitask and work effectively with changing priorities and deadlines is essential
  • Superior attention to detail is needed as well as excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong knowledge of regional sports teams and thorough understanding of media landscape with working knowledge of sports, including MLB, NBA and MLS is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is necessary. Basic knowledge of the latest graphics and editing hardware and software is helpful for social/digital content creation
