BROOKLYN (Feb. 5, 2026) – The Brooklyn Nets have acquired guard Ochai Agbaji and a 2032 second round draft pick from the Toronto Raptors, along with cash considerations from the Los Angeles Clippers, as part of a three-team trade. To complete the deal, Brooklyn has traded the draft rights to Vanja Marinkovic to the Clippers. In a related transaction, the Nets have requested waivers on forward Haywood Highsmith.
Agbaji (6’5”, 220) has appeared in 42 games (13 starts) for Toronto this season, recording averages of 4.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game. In 243 career games (108 starts) over three-and-a-half seasons with Toronto and Utah, the 25-year-old has averaged 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 21.6 minutes per contest while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from 3-point range. Agbaji posted career-high averages across the board last season in Toronto, averaging 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.2 minutes per game in 64 appearances (45 starts). The Milwaukee native was selected by Cleveland with the 14th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and later traded to the Jazz prior to the start of the 2022-23 season. He previously played four collegiate seasons (2018-22) at the University of Kansas, where he earned consensus First Team All-America honors and was named the 2022 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player while helping lead the Jayhawks to the 2022 NCAA title.
Highsmith was acquired by Brooklyn on Aug. 15, 2025, and has not appeared in a game this season.
