Report: Preseason opener at Coliseum

Al Iannazzone reports the Nets will open the preseason at Long Island's Nassau Coliseum on October 9 vs. the Knicks. It will be a Nets home game and be the first time the team will wear its Brooklyn colors.
The full preseason schedule has yet to be released. The Nets of course won their two ABA titles in 1974 and 1976 playing at the now aging Coliseum. Currently, the team is trying to recruit Long Islanders as season ticket holders. The Long Island Rail Road's Atlantic Terminal is across the street from Barclays Center. It's accessible either directly or with one change from 10 of the LIRR's 11 lines.
The Nets normally play eight preseason games, with two each against the Knicks, 76ers and Celtics.
