
Scariest backcourt in the NBA?
The debate is on. Is the Nets backcourt of Deron Williams and Joe Johnson the NBA's best? Williams isn't saying it is THE best, but he leaves no doubt he thinks it has real potential.
"Joey, I never played with anyone like him,’’ Williams gushed when asked about Johnson in Las Vegas Friday. "A guy on the wing that can get his own shot, but also get me involved and is a great defender. We can be one of the top backcourts in the NBA.’’
On NBA TV, Chris Webber thinks the Nets' pairing can be something special. "Last year I didn't think Williams was an All-Star. I said that because he played on a bad team. And Joe Johnson, I'm not mad at him taking all that money that he took but I never thought he was a No. 1 guy. In saying all of that, this back court is about to be scary. I'm talking about being soo scary..."
