Yankees sign fifth-round pick Refsnyder
Refsnyder, a junior from the University of Arizona, was selected with the 187th overall pick after hitting .364 with a team-high eight home runs and 64 RBIs for the Wildcats in 2012. He was also named the MVP of the 2012 College World Series after hitting .476 with five RBI, six runs scored, and a pair of stolen bases in six games while leading Arizona to the National Championship.
The 21-year-old was an outfielder at Arizona, but the Yankees hope to convert him to second base – a position he played briefly as a freshman in Tucson.
