The Yankees made the official roster moves to disable lefties CC Sabathia and Andy Pettitte Thursday, with the latter’s deactivation perhaps raising a few eyebrows in relation to the timetable for his return.

As expected, Sabathia was placed on the 15-day DL with a strained groin, and he is expected back after the All-Star Break.

Pettitte, meanwhile, was placed on the 60-day disabled list with a fractured ankle, meaning he will not be eligible to be activated until August 27 – three weeks beyond the initial four-to-six week minimum estimate given for his potential return on Wednesday.

To replace them on the roster, the Yankees officially called up RHPs Ryota Igarashi and Adam Warren from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Igarashi, 33, was claimed off waivers from Toronto on May 29, and is in his second stint with the team; he was called up when Freddy Garcia went on the bereavement list earlier this month and appeared in one game, allowing one run in his one inning pitched on June 8.

Warren, meanwhile, will be making his Major League debut when he starts Friday’s game against the White Sox, and he will wear uniform No. 43.
