Jason Kidd open to an encore with Nets

Kidd is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, and should the Nets re-sign current point guard Deron Williams this summer, the veteran has said he’d be interested in serving as D-Will’s backup.
"My days of playing 38 minutes are over," Kidd said. "We [Williams and I] could play off each other and hopefully be successful."
Kidd led the Nets to consecutive NBA Finals appearances in 2001-02 and 2002-03, and while he also said that the team’s move to Brooklyn is alluring on its own, he would only come serve in that reserve capacity if Williams returned.
A 10-time NBA All-Star, Kidd has spent the last four-plus seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, who acquired him from the Nets in an eight-player deal in February of 2008. Kidd and the Mavs won an NBA title 2010-11, but the 39-year-old is coming off a 2011-12 campaign that saw him average career lows in points (6.2), assists (5.5), and minutes (28.7) per game.
In addition to the possibility of a Nets return, Kidd has also said that he would be open to re-signing with Dallas on a one-year deal or coming to Madison Square Garden to serve as a mentor to breakout New York Knicks star Jeremy Lin.
